Pretty Hand Warmers

This year, as Christmas presents for a few of my favorite girlfriends, I made pretty hand warmers!

These are simply two squares of coordinating fabric serged together and filled with rice and lavender. They can be microwaved for 20 - 30 seconds and then placed either in coat pockets or mittens. They stay warm for quite some time. I might need to make a pair for myself!
