This summer, I have been doing more gardening than dancing or knitting or sewing. This is our second year with our vegetable garden and the lessons we learned last year are paying off. Most significantly, we are using cages for the tomatoes instead of stakes, we increased the space between plans for easier harvesting, and we used taller cages for the cucumbers.
So far, we have mostly been harvesting cucumbers, lettuce, green beans, and zucchini (and a few jalapeno peppers). Delicious. It brings us (me and Mr. HipDroppedStitches) such joy to bring vegetables in from the garden for dinner in the evening. We are looking forward to the tomatoes, peas, onions, and carrots!

Looks great! Now, you want some eggs from our girls to go with all that home-grown produce?
ReplyDeleteVery impressed... one of these years, I'll follow suit!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And, yes, we do want eggs! Let me know the price and the best way to obtain them!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's very rewarding. And, soon, you'll have a little helper. :-)
